We were invited to exhibit at an open house at the recently renovated Crown Plaza Hotel near the intersection of IH-35 & US 290. We met some great vendors as well as some interested brides. Here’s a few photos:
We’ve just revamped our gallery page with streaming flash galleries! This will make it easier for people to see a wider variety of our work. Be sure to check out the new features and let me know what you think!

It’s February already and SilverTree Studios is ready to go for the 2010 wedding season! We’ve changed a few of the prices as well as added a few features over the winter that will really make your video stand out. One thing we’ve added is a Glidecam that allows us to capture very fluid camera movement. It’s a great tool and hopefully we’ll have time to use it in all of our wedding videos this year.
We’re also in the process of making some upgrades to our studio (again) to include a large built-in desk that will really help with our organization as well as aesthetics! Photos will follow.
Austin Wedding Guide’s Bridal Extravaganza will be January 9th & 10th from Noon-5pm at the Palmer Events Center. We’ll be in attendance offering discounts to people who register at our booth so be sure to stop by and say ‘Hi’!
Go to the Austin Wedding Guide’s website for tickets, discounts, and more information: http://www.austinweddings.com/bridex.shtml
Merry Christmas everyone!
I just ran across this posting on the local FOX TV stations website:
They offer some good ways to scale back the expense of a wedding, but I wouldn’t recommend using your Aunt as a videographer! I’ve seen too many disasters when going that route. See the original article here. I also noticed that the Austin Wedding Blog posted this too! Wow, they are FAST!
SilverTree Studios will be attending Austin Wedding Guide’s Bridal Extravaganza on January 10th & 11th. We’ll be one of hundreds of wedding vendors offering our services to Austin-area brides.
This year its being held at the Austin Convention Center downtown rather than the Parmer Events center, so download and print a parking map here and make plans to visit us in booth 833!
In our promise to keep up with technology, SilverTree Studios will now record exclusively in ‘high definition’, effective January 1st. This move offers our customers the ultimate in picture quality amongst other benefits. We deliver your high-def wedding video on Blu-ray Disc which play on either PlayStation3 gaming consoles or any Blu-ray player. Blu-ray players range in price from $200-$350 and can play regular DVD’s as well. If you don’t have a blu-ray player, you can continue to order standard definition DVD’s for playback in DVD players.
If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to call me @ 512.251.6230.
Happy New Year everyone!
As this year draws to a close, I’d like to reflect back on what a great year 2008 has been. 2008 brought some big changes for us:
- We started a blog!
- Our crew grew to six employees! This enables us to do so much more with the added benefit of fresh minds developing new ideas
- I was married September 27 so I had a chance to go through the process that I was already too familiar with! By the way, my wife is a pretty good editor so you may just want her to edit your wedding video
- We made some great connections with other wedding vendors, including joining the Carriage House group!
- We’ve been heavily involved with starting up the Greater Austin Professional Videographers Association (GAPVA). Our hope is that this organization will be valuable to both budding and seasoned videographers as well as raise awareness of the benefits of videography.
- We started Capital Wedding Video in response to an increased demand for more economical wedding videography services. Check it out!
We hope that 2008 was a blessing and that 2009 brings joy and success to you and yours.
-Brian

Back in June, Joe and I had the oppotunity to chat with R.J. Johnson of Austin Bridal Secrets about our business and what services we offer. Austin Bridal Secrets is a podcast/blog dedicated to helping Brides get to know wedding vendors in the Austin area. This is our very first podcast, so naturally I was a little nervous. It ended up being lots of fun. R.J. also runs a DJ service (Music4Life DJ’s).

SilverTree Studios recently joined The Carriage House which is a group of professional wedding vendors. With vendors specializing in wedding planning, photography, cakes, flowers and honeymoon travel, the addition of SilverTree Studios adds wedding videography to the group. The Carriage House Groups goal is to be a one-stop shopping destination for the bride and groom.
The other vendors in the group are: Austin Wedding Planners, Matty Cakes, Get Away Travel, I Do Photography, and Callas Flowers. The Carriage House is located at 509 West 8th Street in Austin
